with two nights of programming. The new Warner Brothers network
already as all the Tribune stations signed including channel 5 in Los
Angeles, Channel 9 in Chicago and Channel 11 in New York City.
Jamie Kellner
, the former president of Fox Broadcasting Co will be
its chief executive. Paramount Communications Inc announced
similar plans last week, but Kellner says, “There is only room for
one more network.” Planning on calling itself “The WB,” the new
network, plans on drawing on the studio’s stable of TV writers and producer’s to
create new shows. It may draw on exclusive properties such as Bugs Bunny,
which may only be shown on the network.
Word has it that NBC is taking the “Today” show to a street-level studio with big
plate-glass windows so that passerby can view some of the show as it airs. As of
now though, NBC will not confirm the plans.

Year’s concerts at the new MGM Grand resort in
Las Vegas. They’ll be her first paid concerts in 27
years.
“The Joan Rivers” syndicated talk show will end
its five-year run on December 31st. Meanwhile,
Miss Rivers has other plans. She’ll have a new
show entitled “Can We Shop” on QVC. She’s
sold some $60 million in jewelry and fashions on
the shopping network since 1990.
