All of a sudden - It’s Joe the
Plumber! The media just can’t
take their eyes off of Joe
Wurzelbacher - from Ohio.
Neither can John McCain - who
brought him up in this week’s
presidential debate. But it all
started on Sunday, when
Obama met Wurzelbacher
during a visit to Holland, Ohio,
where a TV crew captured an
exchange between them. “Joe”
asked Obama if he believed in
the American dream. “Yes sir” Obama replied. Wurzelbacher then explained that
he was trying to purchase a business and worried that he would pay higher taxes
under Obama’s proposal. “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?”
asked Joe to Obama. Obama explained his position - saying he wanted
everyone to have a chance - to spread the wealth around.
Third and final Presidential debate - John McCain accused Obama of
promulgating “class warfare” and - referring to Joe the Plumber - “Joe wants to
buy the business that he has been in for all of these years, worked 10, 12 hours
a day… but he looked at your tax plan and he saw that he was gong to pay much
higher taxes...” Bob Schieffer moderated at Hofstra University at Hempstead, NY.
John McCain calls for an immediate voter fraud investigation of ACORN - the
liberal-leaning community organizing group, which has helped hundreds of
thousands register to vote- but some believe - not all of it is on the up-and-up.
