Panama City. A Communiqué read over national radio says that
Noreiga is still in control... Later, it’s learned that the revolt

Disgraced TV evangelist Jim Bakker
(The PTL Club) is convicted of fleecing
followers of millions of dollars. He was
convicted on 24 counts of fraud and
conspiracy for overselling time shares or
as he called them “partnerships” at his
ministry’s resort hotels to followers of his
PTL empire. Prosecutors said Bakker
diverted donations to live in a fancy style
- expensive cars, Rolex watches, homes
with gigantic walk-in closets, motorized
bedroom drapes, gold-plated swan-
shaped bathroom fixtures and a $500 shower curtain. In addition to overselling
the time-shares, Bakker was convicted of diverting $3.7 million of the money to
buy luxuries.
