Almost 400 days - The Muslim militants who have held the American hostages in
Iran say they have handed over the captives to the Iranian government and no
longer have anything to do with them.
The Soviet Union sends three cosmonauts into space; six weeks after tow others
completed the longest space race in history.
Despite rejections in advance from three possible Cabinet appointees, President-
elect Ronald Reagan says he expects no big problems inputting together a high-
quality group of Cabinet members. Recently, Reagan said former Treasury
Secretary William Simon had told him he was not interested in taking a new
Cabinet position.
A woman who has lived on the west side of Manhattan
for two hears has been identified as Bernardine Dohrn ,
the fugitive leader of the radical Weather Underground.
A woman in a black Lincoln Continental plows through
sidewalk crowds in Reno, hitting 32 and killing 5.

Passing - Actress Rachel Roberts (53).
Music news - Paul McCartney has embarked on his first
full-length carton project. His movie will include “Rupert the Bear,” a British comic
strip character making his screen debut. McCartney wrote the story line, plus 11
songs for the movie.
John Lennon , now out and about after a hiatus has
some interesting things to say. One - that he is hurt he
was left out of the autobiography of George Harrison. He
also has this interesting observation about his
songwriting partner Paul McCartney - “I thought
subconsciously Paul tried to destroy my greatest songs.
We would spend hours doing little, detailed cleaning up
on Paul’s songs, but when it came to mine… somehow
an atmosphere of looseness and experimentation would
come up. I was hurt… Paul will deny it.’
