The House of Representatives approves the North American Free Trade
Agreement by a large margin. The Senate is expected to act on the measure in
days, where it is expected to pass. President Clinton, happy about the come-
from-behind victory declared; “Tonight’s vote is a defining moment. At a time
when many of our people are hurting, we chose to compete and not to retreat.”
Flight attendants employed by American Airlines strike, forcing the cancellation of
flights forcing travelers to scramble for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. The
walkout is planned for 11 days.
It’s continued commonwealth for Puerto Rico, as voters
reject statehood, much to the dismay of Gov.
Pedro
Rossello.
It was a close contest.
The Washington Post obtains a TCI cable memo urging its
mangers to take advantage of loopholes and increase fees
from cable “re-regulation.” The memo, from COO Barry
Marshall: “We have to discipline ... We cannot be dissuaded
from the charges simply because customers object. It will
take awhile, but they’ll get use to it. The best news of all is we can blame it on re-
regulation and the government now. Let’s take advantage of it!” The memo was a
call to raise service fees and service calls including cable and VCR hookups.
Pepsi announces that it is dropping

Jackson
as its spokesperson because he
abandoned his world concert tour. Jackson
announced that he is ending his “Dangerous”
tour to seek treatment for an addiction to
painkillers that Jackson contends was worsened
by stress caused by allegations the he molested
a 13 year-old boy.

rarely off TV screens after his first series
“My Favorite Martian” in 1963. Best
known for his role as Dr David Bruce
Banner in “The Incredible Hulk.” His
other successful series was “The
Courtship Of Eddie’s Father” in the late
60’s - early 70’s. He also starred in TV’s
“The Magician and “Goodnight
Beantown.” He once told TV guide - “I’m
perfectly content to be labeled a
television performer.”
Actress Barbara Streisand donates her lavish 24-acre Malibu, CA estate to the
Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy for a conservation institute. The property,
with 5 houses - is appraised at $15 million.

Fritz Feld
(93). His familiar
trademark cork-sounding pop created by bringing the flat
of his hand against his mouth. Featured in 425 films, 500
television shows, 1,000 radio programs and 90
commercials.
Rapper and actor Tupac Amaru Shakur (22) is arrested for
forcible sodomy and unlawful imprisonment of a 20 year-
old woman at the Parker Meridian Hotel in New York City.
It’s the latest in a string of legal problems for Shakur. The
woman alleged that the singer and two others held her
down while a fourth male sodomized her in a hotel room.

Ed McMahon’s “Star Search” now uses a
toll (900) number so viewers can vote.
The call costs $1.99 and proceeds go to
Muscular Dystrophy.
On the air for three months, “The Late
Show” starring David Lettermen on CBS is averaging a 5.2 rating or 4.8 million
households. “The Tonight Show” w/ Jay Leno averaged a 4.1 rating, down 7%
from the same period last year. The Leno camp says it’s still too early.
ABC’s “Family Matters” launches a cross-country search for
the funniest and best impression of
Steve Urkel
- the show’s
nerd. Children ages 4-12 must submit a VHS tape to Warner
Brothers by December 3. The two best will win guest roles on
the series.

- A song by convicted murderer Charles Manson will be part of the
new Guns ‘N Roses albums “The Spaghetti Incident?” It’s an unlisted bonus track
titled “Look at Your Game, Girl.” The group and label Geffen Records have kept it
hush until now.
Motown releases “Black Reign,” - Queen Latifah’s
third album and her first with the label. She used to
be with Tommy Boy. She doesn’t mince words
when it comes to her variety - “The only thing
people should expect from Queen Latifah is the
unexpected. I am a rapper and an artist. I can’t do
strictly hard-core, strictly reggae, rap or R&B… I
go with the vibe… whatever the vibe commands,
that’s what I follow, that’s how I function.”
Tony Bennett has his first video released. Look for
“Stepin’ Out With My Baby” on MTV. Tony’s been
in the business over 40 years. MTV says that Bennett has a certain amount of
credibility and vibe with the alternative crowd right now. “He’s a legend, and in
the spirit of unpredictability and a desire to keep our audience stimulated, we
thought it would be great to add this clip,” said a spokesperson.
