Election - it looks like it’s coming down to the state of Ohio, where George W.
Bush has a slim lead over John Kerry.
President Bush wins a second term.
Bush termed the 51% of the national
popular vote a “historic victory” and
called for changes to Social Security
among others.
Conceding defeat - Sen. John Kerry
told supporters that “we’re America and
America always moves forward.”
Post election - President Bush says he
would use his fresh “political capital,” to
try to fundamentally change Social Security and alter the federal tax code.
At least 50 are dead, most Iraqi policemen in explosions and gunfire northwest of
Baghdad by insurgents.
The unemployment rate gets better - 5.5%.
Food containing olive oil can carry labels saying it may reduce their risk of
coronary heart disease, the government says.
