Technology -
Sony unveils a wide-screen HDTV it will put on the market beginning next month.
Sony says it is the first on the market with the product a 36-inch TV with a 16:9
aspect radio. So far HJK Japan has begun daily one-hour HDTV broadcasts this
year. Japan, the EC and the U.S. are split over HDTV broadcast standards and
are expected to adopt divergent systems. Japan’s system is MUSE - and uses
satellites.
