Music news-
MTV is doing a “Scrooge for a Day” contest where the lucky
viewer can be network president for a day. He or she will
select MTV videos, edit the news and chair programming
meetings, receive $25,000 in station advertising revenues
and a percentage of the daily “Scrooged” box-office take. It’s a tie in with
Paramount’s “Scrooged” starring Bill Murray.
Both Ringo Starr and his wife, Barbara Bach are under treatment for alcoholism
somewhere in the U.S.
Federal court - Singer-songwriter Tom Waits files a $2
million suit against Frido-Lay, claiming the snack company
used a sound-alike to promote of its new products. The
signing is heard on 30-second radio ads for “Salsa Rio”
Doritos.
