Senator McCarthy/Army hearings - Possible perjury prosecutions against Robert
T. Stevens (the secretary of the Army) and his legal counselor are suggested at
the investigation of the Army controversy with Senator McCarthy. The “attack”
against the secretary was lead by the Senator.
The Geneva conference beings its fifth week and is
turning out to be frustrating for the western allies who
hoped to liberate Korea and Indo-China from communist
menace...

Prime Minister Winston Churchill
summons his cabinet into a special session to consider
once again whether to join in taking action against in
Indo-China should the Geneva talks fail.
An old chair, pushed off the roof of a New York City
tenement falls five floors, striking Pulitzer Prize-winning
playwright Mike Connelly, who just happened to be walking by. He suffered
severe scalp cuts and bruises, but showed no signs of anger.
An explosion on the aircraft carrier
Bennington kills at least 91 sailors
and injures 201 in one of the worst
peacetime disasters in Navy history.

Gary Crosby
(20), son of Bing is among
six persons injured and one killed in an auto accident near
San Francisco. Crosby had a cut nose and bruises on the
right knee.

A burglar gets into the
home of Hollywood
magnate Jack L. Wagner
while he was entertaining guests. Kenneth Bowe
says he just drove up, staying right behind
another guest. When he got into the home, he
began casing the place. A suspicious maid saw
him go into the master bedroom and locked it -
calling police.
Paul Hoffman, chairman of Studebaker Corp is
named Father of the year by the National
Father’s day Committee.
A burglar pries loose a screen then opens the
window to Leslie Caron’s apartment in Beverly Hills. Using a curtain rod from the
window, the burglar fished her purse, snagging it from a table. The contents of
the $250 dollar gold-trimmed satin bag contained only powder puff and a key.

describes it as a satirical spoof on a well-known politician. It will be named Burpo,
the Headline Hunting Headhunter.
Paul Tripp who was known to TV audiences as Mr. I Magination is coming out
with a new program - “On the Carousel” beginning June 5. It’ll just be seen on
WCBS-TV in New York. He replaces Allen Luden on the educational show.
Humorist/comedian Jack Paar will star in his own weekly summer show over
CBS-TV beginning July 17.
