Spain formally laid claim to a shipwreck that yielded a $500-million booty, saying
it has proof the vessel was Spanish. Odyssey Marine exploration, based in
Tampa, Fla - announced in May 2007 that it had discovered the wreck in the
Atlantic and its cargo of 300,000 silver coins, gold doubloons and other artifacts.
Spain says the 19 th Century wreck is the Nuestra Senora de las Mercedes - a
Spanish warship sunk by the British navy in 1804 southwest of Portugal with
more than 200 people on board.

MySpace says it would soon enable
users to quickly share profile data with
websites operated by Yahoo , EBay and
others. MySpace aims to save its users
keystrokes and enable them to export their photos, videos and lists of friends.
Last June, five companies including Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo formed the
OpenID coalition to create a single user name and password for people to use
across the Internet.
Wow - “Grand Theft Auto IV” - gets a video game record in sales - getting $500
million in first week sales. That topped the previous high set last year by
Microsoft’s “Halo 3,” which took in $300 million in its first week.
Media - Clear Channel Communications says it has resolved a legal dispute over
its buyout, clearing the way for prospective buyers to take the radio and outdoor

Long Island Newsday will be sold by Tribune Co to Cablevision systems Corp for
$650 million.
Cablevision must be on a spree - as it buys the Sundance cable channel for

Hannah Storm - most recently with the
CBS Early Show, is added to ESPN’s
“SportsCenter lineup beginning in August.
Quiksilver Inc - maker of the namesake
surfing and snowboarding gear, is sued by
sports network ESPN on claims it violated a
trademark on the cable channel’s X-Games
competition franchise. Quicksilver uses a
stylized “X” emblem on clothing that is similar
to ESPN’s logo for the series of surfing and
biking contests.
