Riot police in Jerusalem storm the sacred Temple Mount complex and fired
rubber bullets at protesting Muslims on the final Sabbath of the holy month of
Ramadan.
President Reagan is “mortified” that his endorsement of George Bush’s
presidential candidacy was regarded as surprisingly lukewarm. Reagan gave
Bush a terse, three sentence statement of support, mispronouncing the name of
his vice president at one point as “Bosch.”
Seven of the nation’s biggest banks raise their prime to 9%.
In North Carolina - A Bible-toting, Scripture-quoting 10-year-old was suspended
room school for the fourth time after he warned the assistant principal that the
fires of hell await her. “Thou shalt not commit adultery!” shouted Duffrey Strode
to no one in particular. “You are guilty! Your eyes are full of adultery!” His two
younger brothers were also suspended from school last week for the third time
for the same offense.
Jane Amsterdam, a senior editor at the New York publishing house of Alfred A.
Knopf and a founding editor of Manhattan Inc, is named editor of the New York
