Former President Richard Nixon said that the United States would at some point
face a choice between Russia and Ukraine as a focus for its support in Eastern
Europe.
President Clinton lashes out at Republican critics - charging that they are
sabotaging the nation’s need for honest debate at a time when it needs a
“genuine conflict of ideas.” His remarks clearly show his frustration over
Whitewater - and over the way a stream of allegations surrounding the
Whitewater controversy and related matters have blocked Clinton’s ability to
communicate his Administration’s agenda.
Susan McDougal - former real estate partner of then Gov. Bill Clinton and his
wife, breaks her silence that has made her the mystery woman of Whitewater. In
a press conference, she refused to answer questions about the critical
transactions that have plunged the White House into controversy. She declared
her innocence and accused the republicans of persecuting her and her former
husband, James B. McDougal.
Tonya Harding enters a plea of guilty to
“hindering prosecution” and agrees to resign
from U.S. amateur figure skating as a result
of the attack on rival Nancy Kerrigan.
Next week - Vice President Al Gore will urge
world leaders at a meeting in Argentina to
develop a global information superhighway
as a way to promote economic development.

was angry that Dr. Dre’s best-selling album,
“The Chronic” (which features his raps) and
his own “Doggystyle” collection weren’t
nominated for best rap album. “You know
and I know that Dr. Dre had the best rap album of 1993.” Why wasn’t he even a
nominee? How can they explain that? We feel we were done wrong on these
awards.” At the Soul Train Awards - big winners were Whitney Houston and Toni
Braxton.
