President Bush calls for a ban on use of production of ozone-depleting chemicals
by the turn of the century.
Six more nations announce they will sign an international accord to rid the
atmosphere of ozone-destroying chemicals. An international conference opens in
London and will try to curb action on ozone-destroying chemicals.
Everyone from pilots, mechanics, and pilots strike Eastern airlines.
Former National Security Adviser Robert C. McFarlane receives a suspended
two-year sentence and is fined $20,000 on his guilty plea last year of four
misdemeanor charges of misleading Congress about the Iranian arms scandal.

commercial .The ad features Madonna debuting
her new tune - “Like a Prayer.”

On “Saturday Night Live” - John Larroquette
hosts with musical guest Randy Newman
(repeat).
Michigan’s Terry Rakolta is on a one-woman
crusade against Fox- TV’s “Married With Children,” calling the program lewd.
Rakolta’s complaints became national news and so far, one sponsor has left the
program.
A memo written by “Today” show co-host Bryant
Gumble said that weatherman Willard Scott is
killing the program with “whims, wishes, birthdays
and bad taste.”
Actor Todd Bridges tells “Entertainment Tonight”
that since he was incarcerated, he has started to,
”grow up and become a man… Growing up as a
child star, you never grow up. You’re always a
