President Clinton says the attacks which U.N. forces have
been conducting against Somali warlord Mohammed Farah
Aidid during the past few days are over, but that allied forces
are poised just in case.
Syringes are found in Pepsi cola cans around the Seattle-
Tacoma area and the FDA says it is investigating. As the
week progresses, reports are coming in from other areas,
and the FDA believes many of the claims follow the wake of
the initial complaint in Washington State.
Sports - The Chicago Bulls get their third consecutive title as they defeat
Phoenix Suns. Michael Jordan gets MVP.
Technology - IBM releases version 2.1 of its O2/2 personal computer operating
system. The new version adds compatibility with Windows 3.1, faster
performance and nice choice of multimedia features.
John Sculley who led Apple Computer through 10 years of growth, says he will
step down as chief executive. CEO Michael Spindler is taking his place.
Recording career begins - The creators of the popular purple character “Barney”
sign a major record deal with EMI. The first “Barney Music” album is set for
August.
Roger Clinton, the President’s younger brother is confirmed for a roll in “National
Lampoon’s Last Resort.”
Music news - Kennedy Montgomery hosts MTV’s
“Alternative Nation.” She was a DJ at KROQ Los
Angeles before she got the job last December. She
just returned from a jaunt to Memphis where she
hosted a special celebrating the kickoff of the MTV-
sponsored “Alternative Nation” tour headlined by the
Spin Doctors and featuring Soul Asylum and
Screaming Trees.
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are looking for a new
guitarist in the wake of Arik Marshall, who was fired
from the band last month.

years old. Thanks to the movie “Benny &
Joon” it’s been re-discovered!

(Oldies) which is owned by Beasley
Broadcasting, is sold to Infinity for $110
million.
WWMX Baltimore director of public
relations Dawn Tritalk files a $50 million
suit against WJFK-FM talkers Don
Geronimo and Mike O’Mera, who
allegedly called her a lesbian and an “obese, grotesque, wild beast” during a live
April 5 broadcast.
