An 11-year-old boy who touched a 26,000-volt power line
dangled upside-down from the wire screaming, for a half
hour before he was rescued. Police said the boy; Charles
Hooker was in critical condition. He had climbed an
electrical tower with a 10-year-old friend, and Hooker
challenged the friend to touch the power line. The power
had to be shut from the line, and until then, the boy was
left hanging from the wire, his shirt on fire.

More American marriages than ever broke up in 1979 as the number of divorces
was nearly triple the number 20 years earlier. About 1.18 million divorces were
granted n 1979 - 4.5% more than the 1he 1/13 million of 1978 and almost three
times the 395,000 granted in 1959.
