A detailed road map of Enron Corp’s aggressive accounting
maneuvers and an uncannily accurate prediction of the company’s
collapse were laid before Enron Chairman Kenneth L. Lay in
August, in a memo made public this week.
More Enron - Enron Chairman Kenneth L. Lay was warned last summer by a
company vice president that the energy company’s financial practices might
cause it to “implode in a wave of accounting scandals,” congressional
investigators said.
The collapse of Enron, so far a political, legal and investor crisis, now imposes
widespread costs on the U.S. economy. Electricity and natural gas companies
face higher costs and projects to build power infrastructures have come to a halt.

E! News online reports Bruce Springsteen has granted a
tentative clearance to turn his songs into a rock opera called
“Drive All Night.” The rocker is expected to preview a rough
demo of the two-hour production in March.
George Harrison’s widow Olivia Arias Harrison files a civil
suit against her former brother-in-law, Carl Roles and his
current wife, Carol, for allegedly stealing Harrison
memorabilia and attempting to sell it the day after the former
Beatles’ death.
