President Reagan orders all Americans to
leave Libya, denouncing Moammar Kadafi
as “a pariah in the world community.”
Col Moammar Kadafi condemned the men
who attacked the Rome and Vienna airports
as “completely mad” and pledged to help
fight terrorism.
A U.S. intelligence report says that Libya is
funding terrorists - and funding them through
accounts in the United States. The
laundering operation was discovered last
week. All accounts have been frozen.
Britain - Defense Secretary Michael Heseltine resigns in a spectacular
government row after accusing Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher of stifling his
campaign against the sale of Britain’s only helicopter firm to American-led
interests.
Weekly radio - President Reagan suggested that nations that continue to deal
with Libya are placing trade above morality.
Wholesale prices rose 1.8% in 1985 - the lowest inflation rate in 20 years!

Unemployment eases to 6.9% the lowest rate since April of 1980 and good news
for the Reagan Administration.
The Dow slides 39 points after a run-up. It’s the biggest one-day nosedive
recorded (so far).
Business - Kodak, losing a bid to block a court order - is getting out of the
instant photo business. In October a federal Judge ruled that Kodak had infringed
on seven U.S. patents owned by rival Polaroid. The judge now has barred Kodak
from making or selling the instant products effective this week.
Sports - The Raiders have the highest average salary at $217,000. They’re
followed by the New Orleans Saints at $217,000
Baseball commissioner Peter Ueberroth finishes a series of meetings with 24
players who have either undergone drug rehabilitation or who were involved in
last summer’s Pittsburgh drug trials.

Singer Luther Vandross is hospitalized with injuries
suffered in a car accident. A passenger in his car was
killed.
