About 2,700 Cuban criminals and mental patients will be sent home under an
agreement reached by the Reagan Administration with the Castro government. In
return for taking back the unwanted “boat people,” Cuba was granted regular
emigration visa rights even the 23-year break in diplomatic relations was not
repaired.
Iranian security men overpower four Arab hijackers who commandeered a
Kuwait Airlines jetliner almost six days earlier. Nine hostages were rescued at the
Tehran airport. Two were Americans.
A fresh surge in food prices pushed wholesale prices up .5% in November, the
biggest increase since January and the first of any kind since July.
President Reagan asks Defense Secretary Caspar W.
Weinberger to recommend some savings in his $324.8-
billion budget request for the next fiscal year.
November - The unemployment rate falls to 7% from 7.3%
Treasury Secretary Donald Regan sharply attacks the
Federal Reserve Board, accusing it of being “penurious” in
restricting the money supply and warning that the Treasury
is studying possible ways to restrict the board’s
independence.
A medical technician caught AIDS after being exposed to high-risk blood in a
laboratory and experts attempted to learn whether he got the disease from on-
the-job contact, a form of transmission never before documented.

Eric Dickerson of the Rams tops O.J. Simpson’s single

Actor Stacy Keach , who portrays the detective Mike
Hammer on CBs television, admits in court that he
tried to smuggle about 1 ¼ ounces of what he termed
“diabolical” cocaine into Britain, He was sentenced to
nine months in jail.
Elizabeth Taylor announces that she plans to get
married for the eighth time - this time to Dennis Stein
- a public relations consultant. They met while
attending a Breeder’s Cup race at Hollywood Park last
month. Both are 52. Taylor’s latest engagement
comes several months after she broke off an
engagement of almost a year to Mexican lawyer
Victor Luna.
A federal grand jury indicted boxing promoter Don King and an assistant on 23
cunts of evading more than $300,000 in federal income taxes, U.S. Atty. Rudolph
Giuliani said. King was also the present of Michael Jackson’s recently concluded
“Victory Tour.”

charges after a head-on collision in Redondo Beach
near Los Angeles. The accident took of the life of his
