Iranian President Hashemi Rafasnjani says he is ready to resolve the hostage
crisis in Lebanon and cautions that American military might is not the answer.
Rep. Newt Gingrich defended himself against growing allegations of House rules
violations, saying that the charges come from “enraged” democrats led by “an
almost irrational” Rep. Bill Alexander (D-Ark.).
HUD Secretary Jack Kemp announces a series of reforms for the Federal
Housing Administration which has been plagued by mismanagement.
The Revolutionary Justice Organization- the Muslim extremist group holding
American hostage Joseph J. Cicipo in Lebanon declares that it would free him if
Israel released a captive Shiite clergyman and 450 Arab prisoners.
AIDS update - A new study shows that AZR significantly slows the progression
of disease in persons with early AIDS-related complex - the first real evidence
that the drug benefits those with the beginning symptoms of infection.

Austin is injured in an automobile accident in
Milburn NJ. She suffered cuts and will require
stitches, but no broken bones. She should be

John Cougar Mellencamp says he needs a
break from rock and will not tour to promote his
“Big daddy” album. “I need to get out of this
business for awhile. I’ve been beating my head
against the wall since I was 23. I’ve got no family, no self-respect - I’ve put
everything into the rock ‘n’ roll business. And I don’t think they’re going to give
me a crown for it in heaven either.’
Mary Wilson, one of the original Supremes, files suit contending she is owed a
50% interest in the recent sale of masters and recordings by the trio.
