Armed cult leader David Koresh , pledges to
surrender after writing a religious manuscript - so
says his lawyer. Koresh and his heavily armed
followers have kept hundreds of law enforcement
officers at bay since a February 28 shootout with
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents
who were trying to serve search and arrest
warrants. The FBI says they want the situation
resolved almost immediately.
A fire is set by David Koresh at his
Branch Davidian compound near
Waco. Reports say 86 are dead
including Koresh. Nine of the 95
people inside escaped.
Federal jury returns guilty verdicts
against to Los Angeles police officers
for violating Rodney King’s civil rights
during his infamous 1991 arrest and
subsequent videotape.
Ross Perot purchases a prime-time slot on NBC to discuss President Clinton’s
economic plan and tax increase. Catch it April 25.
First President to invite gay groups for talks - President Clinton invites leaders of
gay-rights groups to a meeting at the Oval Office. Leaders are expected to ask
Clinton to demonstrate his support for a march they plan in Washington April 25.
On Long Island - Joey Buttafuco declares his
innocence on charges that he had sex with
underage teen Amy Fisher, who shot his wife in
what the teen believed to be a love triangle.
Buttafuco was charged with statutory rape and
sodomy for allegedly having sex with Fisher in
July 1991, a month before her 17 th birthday.
Fisher, now 18, is serving a 5-to-15 year prison
sentence after pleading guilty to shooting Mr.
Buttfuoco in the head. Mrs. Buttafuco whose face
is partially paralyzed from the shooting says she
is standing behind her husband.

A new survey of the sexual behaviors and attitudes of American men in their 20’s
and 30’s finds that just 2.3% - less than the 10% expected, have engaged in any
homosexual act.
Technology - IBM says it lost $285 million in the first quarter of this year. The
company said it suffered from a severe decline in its core mainframe computer
business.
Shares of Intel dive after a legal decision enabling AMD to begin shipping 486-
class microprocessor chips.
The industry says sales of PC’s with CD-ROM’s have zoomed, largely because
the prices have come down and the technology is better. CD-ROM’s add a
whole new dimension with graphics, music, pictures and much more. Apple
Computer says nearly half the buyers of new Macintoshes are opting for CD-
Rom drive on models that offer it.
Sports - Quarterback Joe Montana chooses
Kansas City over Phoenix.
Finance - Credit Card interest rates are at an all-
time low - at 16.47%. It’s all due to an enormous
amount of competition.

Music news - Madonna is making the rounds - but
she’s promoting someone else - a singer named Nick
Scotti . Appearing on Entertainment Tonight - she
said “When I first met him, I wanted him, but then
when I heard his music, I wanted to work with him and
you can’t, you know… mix business with pleasure.”
Appearing at this year’s Lollapalooza summer tour -
Arrested Development, Alice in Chains, Fishbone,
Front 242, Primus, and Rage Against The Machine.
More could be added. The tour kicks-off June 18 at
the Univ. of British Columbia’s football stadium in Vancouver.
VH1 says it will air a new country countdown show in prime time beginning in
April. Country is hot now (see below).
Eddie Murphy’s new music video, “ Whatzupwitu ,”
premiers this week on Fox-TV. They’ll broadcast it
on Thursday, between “Martin” and “In Living
Color.” Michael Jackson is featured.

Howard Stern takes some heat in Cleveland after airing a parody song on the
boating accident that killed two Cleveland Indians players. The song:
