Testifying on the fourth day of FCC hearings into the merger of ABC and ITT - ABC President Leonard H. Goldenson said ABC’s broadcasting network has not made any profits in four years and the company’s other affiliates must pay off the cost of loans and dividends. “We lost on our television network in the last four years, about $20 million. Hosts were WOR-FM DJs Scott Muni, Johnny Michaels, Rosko, Jim Lunsbury and Murray the K. Show was co-produced by Sid Bernstein and Fred Weintraub… Chuck McCann is leaving kid’s TV in New York for greener pastures (hopefully) in Hollywood. McCann, who recently hosted a kid’s show on WNEW-TV, was featured on Garry Moore’s CBS-TV show and there may be other network-TV opportunities. McCann was with WPIX-TV then moved to WNEW-TV NBC says it will begin paid guided tours of its Burbank, Calif facility June 26. On public view will be TV shows in rehearsal, make-up artists at work, sets being designed and built, studio interiors, wardrobe department, video control areas, dressing rooms and the news department… Gary Stevens - WMCA’s night DJ, is in London this week to do BBC-TV and radio guest stints, plus a part in “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” movie starring Herman’s Hermits!... Dan Daniel (4-7p) “Goodguy on WMCA, hosted a “Flower-in” at Bryant Park in New York as the Tokens performed and 1,000 Kelly Girl Gladiola bulbs were donated to the New York City Park. FM Rock - KMPX (106.9) in San Francisco is now playing rock music for the area’s hippies. The FM station, which operates on a limited evening broadcast basis, plays album tracks and unreleased dubs which the rock groups provide. More Radio - WABC is giving local bands a break - “The Big Break” as the station is calling it. New, unknown groups from the New York area are played each evening at 10:25 on the Cousin Brucie show. At the end of 13 weeks, ABC records will award record contracts to two of the groups. 20th Century-Fox Records will present a contract to another group…

Both stations are owned by Lee Crosby, an engineer who believes firmly in FM stereo radio. Donahue says the he didn’t think  progressive rock radio - or non-format radio was his own invention. “I think a lot of people probably had the idea.
